A Home of Our Own for NC State Delta Gammas!
Eta Kappa Chapter’s House Corporation has selected Inland Construction to build our new home in Greek Village. Jim Edwards of Inland is working with Judy Pickett, chair of the HC Design and Construction Committee, and our architect, Jim Compton of Cline Design, on final design details and cost estimates.
Located on a corner lot, Delta Gamma’s new home at NC State will be the third of four houses in Phase I. Move-in is scheduled to happen before recruitment in Fall 2016.
Currently we estimate that it will cost $4.4 million to build and furnish the house.
Laurie Byrd, chair of the HC’s Capital Campaign Committee, reports that we have over $100,000 in tax-deductible gifts in our account at the NCSU Foundation, with over $40,000 more in pledges.
Delta Gamma Fraternity has approved our land lease with NC State. According to Maureen Hollmeyer, chair of the HC’s Finance Committee, once we have received a copy of our lease from the university, we have 90 days to execute it which means showing the university that we have the means to finance the project. From then, we have 18 months to begin construction followed by 18 months to complete construction. In order to lock in good terms, we need to raise an additional $358,686 (20% equity) before approaching lenders.
